In April of 2012, my family rescued a family of dogs (mother, father, and three puppies) found on a rural road with no houses in Northampton County, North Carolina. We discovered that the female puppy and her father were injured. Daddy, the father, had a broken femur on one side and a dislocated hip on the other. He needs surgery to remove the false joint it has formed and to put it back in place. Mia, the mother, is heart worm positive and will need treatment. They have been given their shots, are on flea/parasite medication, and recently had their spay/neuter surgery. Expenses so far total $1,870.84. Even though our family is struggling financially, we could not turn our backs on this precious family. We put all these expenses on our credit card even though we don't have the money for this unexpected situation. Please help us raise funds! We need an additional $2300 for Daddy's surgery and Mia's heart worm treatment. Once their medical treatment is completed and the doggies are healed, we intend to work with experienced dog rescues to find them a wonderful home together.
