I don't know how big Midnight is, but a Portuguese Water Dog male typically weighs 42-55 pounds. If you would like to read more about the breed, please visit: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/portuguesewaterdog.htm
More about Midnight
Valerie Bassim wrote Jul 22:
Midnight is a very sweet boy, loves being with his humans. Doris was telling me that Midnight likes to talk (howl) back to her. I am hoping you can get a video of that Doris. Also, apparently Midnight is quite silly and is getting his strength back and is transforming into the beautiful, healthy, and much loved pup he deserves to be.

Hey Liz:Yes we are blessed to have Midnight in rescue with BDBABR rescue, living now with Doris in SC. Doris, Val and I are all officers with other officers residing in GA, TN and MA. Our common mission is to assist blind and/or special needs dogs, primarily pulling from shelter or other risk situations, then either facilitating adoption to an approved Furever Home or providing lifetime sanctuary within our group (mostly for senior blind/deaf/doggie dementia pooches, for which rehoming would be unnecessary trauma).Yes, also looking forward to seeing pics of the very interesting Midnight! And Liz, thank you so much for spreading the word about Midnight and providing a means to assist him through vetting funds and prayers from concerned folks. You are much appreciated. J-p :-)Pablo Bassim Jr

7/15/12 UPDATE
New photos will follow but Midnight got both his eyes removed Thursday and is doing well! He will stay with Doris Macomson in Rock Hill SC until he is adopted. The ChipIn gathered $315 and has ended. Another kind donor mailed a check for $250. Therefore a total of $565 in donations has been received for which Midnight is very grateful!!! Doris too!!! Expenses so far have totaled $1,920. So there is that difference if more kind people would like to contribute. The wonderful organization American Dog Rescue has set up a tool for easily donating through them. Simply visit https://www.americandogrescue.org/donate/ and look for Contribution Type and see Midnight's Medical Care in the pull-down menu. All contributions are tax-deductible. Thank you to all who have been helping this wondrous Portie leave his painful past behind, live a beautiful life from now on, and not just be another shelter statistic heaped on a landfill. You can leave a comment with your donation via American Dog Rescue or you may send a message to Doris via her Facebook wall: http://www.facebook.com/doris.macomson

Hi Liz,
So appreciate you cross posting for this sweetie. He is doing a little better. Got a nice hair cut and has gotten rid of the maggots in his ears. We are still working on the infection in his ears and hope that he will not have to have his ear drums removed. Midnight also has bad skin infections that are getting better and when this is all under control he will have his eyes removed. Through all of this Midnight remains very very sweet and gives lots of kisses. He is closer to his next chapter of life and will never have to endure the harsh life he was living before.
Attached is a few pictures of him after his hair cut.
Thank you so much for helping us help this beautiful soul.
Hugs,
Val
