...We have received $440.00 as of this afternoon on our “Network for Good”. It turns out that people can use pay pal on there too. I’ll go to the P. O. Box first thing in the morning to see if we have any other donations. I’ve had so much to catch up on today and am still not done. We of course can use more donations this will be a long recovery.
I know that there are so many other badly injured dogs out there for people to help. We have already had well over six thousand dollars of major medical (not general medical for dogs) this year with parvo, hit by cars with eyes hanging out, fractured pelvis’s and broken legs and huge lacerations from large dog attacks on small dogs. We also rescued three Wolfhounds from a breeder that was going out of business…one was in such bad shape that even after spending nearly $2,000 on her we were not able to save her.
The wound on Hopey is shrinking by ¼ inch a day…they are taking pictures and documenting it daily. Everyone at the hospital loves Hopey and are letting her into the office area with them. She was in a bed under the receptionist desk when I talked to them earlier. They said she is begging to be held and they do hold her until they have to help other people with their pets.

Our vet does not want to handle the calls. Hopey is our responsibility not the vets, we will be the organization that pays the vet. People can look it up to see that we are a 501 ( c ) 3 We are not used to asking for donations in this manner so I don’t understand the questions.
Thanks Patricia

Thank you…
They are doing the honey/sugar bathing and are trying to find someone to come and do lower level Laser Therapy on her. Many people think it looks like it could have been from a thermal burn - such as crawling under a hot heater or car with hot muffler. We will never know for sure. The people that had Hopey and Iggie for a few days feel horrible and were at a loss as for what to do which is why they were taking her to the shelter to see if someone could help. We are grateful that we were there at the time. We have Iggie and she is fine and happy.

Subject: Hopey and Iggie
This is the three year old female dachshund named Hopey I was telling some of you about…
The people that had her and her daughter said they belonged to a friend who had dropped them off at their house last week (May 24 2012) to watch for a few days…after a few days her minor injuries got really bad but then they found out their friend had committed suicide. Instead of going to a vet they were taking her and her daughter to a kill shelter on June 29th. I had some one at the shelter that day picking up another dachshund and when she saw them called me.
I wish we knew the truth about what really happened to her. Even the vet has never seen anything like it. We are going to try to save her but it will take donations and lots of prayers. Obviously if we can save her, she will be badly disfigured. She is an absolute love in spite of what is happening to her. If anyone has ever seen anything like this and knows how it was treated please email me. We got her on Tuesday, June 29th she is staying at a local vet hospital.
If she can be saved it may take months of care. We found out that they had been adopted in March of 2011 from Lexington Kentucky Humane Society. They were micro-chipped so was able to verify that the deceased was the person they had belonged to. Please pass this along just in case anyone can help us with her treatment and financial help. We are a 501 ( c )3.
