Hi Friends,

First, "Thank you," for your continued support of S.T.A.R.T. and our mission to help save and protect shelter animals.

Here are a few updates on our most recent achievements:

·         Our website finally went live and we are really proud of it,  We'd love to hear from you on what you like, don't like, and maybe what you're hoping to see more of.  Suggestions and insights are always welcome.
·         Grab some Kleenex and watch the latest short video from our flight in Dec:
·         In March, START funded the spay/neuter of 34 dogs from the Lancaster/high desert areas, and upcoming clinics have been scheduled for April in Riverside and Kern County.

Looking forward:

Our GOAL is to transport XXX dogs and cats, and fund the Spay/Neuter of 1200-1500 dogs/cats a year.  In order to achieve this, we need your help.

Our interstate transport program saves upwards of 80 dogs per transport for approximately $45 per animal. Incredible, isn't it?  For just $45, you can save the life of a dog on death row!

But we want to save animals before they arrive at the shelter.  This is why we fund spay/neuter clinics. For $60 or $80 (small vs. large breed) you can spay or neuter a dog, potentially preventing hundreds of additional puppies from being born.

Get STARTed:

Join START as a recurring donor to support our life-saving programs.
Even $5 a month makes a big difference. And if can give more, we can DO more.  Perhaps you can donate $45 each month.  At the end of the year, YOU will have personally funded the rescue of 12 dogs.  YOU can save lives simply by signing up to give.

To sign up for recurring donations, or to refer friends to donate, please visit  All gifts are tax-deductible.

As a supporter of START, you'll hear from us with stories, photos and updates of the animals we save.  You may also hear from us occasionally as we raise funds to assist individual dogs in need, whether for emergency medical treatment or other care.  But perhaps most importantly, you'll hear more in the coming months about the impact our work is having in the community as we begin to track and compile statistics on our programs' success.

If you are interested to learn more about START and how you can get involved please call me: Steve 323-791-7282.  I look forward to hearing from you and to working together.

"S.T.A.R.T. is a 501c3 nonprofit focused on transporting dogs from kill shelters in LA to partnering rescue groups or no kill facilities in Oregon, WA and BC Canada.  Additionally, we fund spay/neuter clinics to help reduce the numbers of unintended litters which contribute to shelter intake."
